SKILLS ASSESSMENT SELF-NOMINATIONS

To be selected for the 2025-26 Pathways programmes, we are seeking self-nominations from players to be involved in the Skills Assessments. Players who believe they have the necessary skills will be assessed against specific criteria. Successful players will then be selected into the respective training programmes.​​​​​​​

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:

CORE PLAYING COMPETENCIES

1. Player must possess a sound skill base.

2. Players must have excelled at school cricket and exhibited an ability to perform at a high level.

3. Players should be displaying a high level of consistency in their performances

CORE PERSONAL QUALITIES

1. Strong work ethic

2. Shows discipline on and off the field

3. Demonstrates team qualities and a readiness to listen, learn and apply learning

4. Dedicated and committed to developing their game

SKILLS ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

BATTING: Front Foot - Attack, Defence, Contact.

Back Foot - Attack, Defence, Contact.

Fundamentals - Stance, Head Position                                                              

BOWLING: Pace, Repeatable Action, Accuracy, Ball Performance

PROGRAMME AND SKILLS ASSESSMENT DETAILS:

YEAR 9 BOYS

SKILLS ASSESSMENT DATES: Stage 1 - 17th, 19th, 24th, 26th June (5-7 PM). Stage 2 - 3rd July (2-4 PM) & 8th July (4-6 PM)

TRAINING PROGRAMME DETAILS: Fridays in Term 3 (24th July - 19th September), 4.30-7.30 PM (2 groups)

AGE CRITIERIA: Year 9 in 2025 school year

Please note that there will be two stages of skills assessments for Year 9 Boys. Players who make it through Stage 1 will be invited to take part in Stage 2, after which a winter training programme of ~32 players will be selected.  

REGISTRATIONS: ​​​​​​​Close 3rd June

U15 GIRLS

SKILLS ASSESSMENT DATES: 6th July (10 AM-12 PM) & 10th July (4.30-6.30 PM)

TRAINING PROGRAMME DETAILS: Thursdays in Term 3 (21st August - 18th September) - 4.30-7.30 PM, Tuesdays in Term 4 (28th October - 2nd December), 4-5.30 PM

AGE CRITIERIA: Must be born on or after 01/09/2010

The U15 Girls Programme will be split into an initial programme in Term 3 and a final squad programme in Term 4. The final squad will be 20 players who will be divided into two teams to compete in a tournament away in December.

 REGISTRATIONS: Close 22nd June

YEAR 10 BOYS

SKILLS ASSESSMENT DATES: Stage 1 - 17th, 19th, 24th, 26th June (5-7 PM). Stage 2 - 3rd July (2-4 PM) & 8th July (4-6 PM)

TRAINING PROGRAMME DETAILS: Mondays in Term 3 (21st July - 15th September), 4.30-7.30 PM (2 groups)

AGE CRITIERIA: Year 10 in 2025 school year

Please note that there will be two stages of skills assessments for Year 10 Boys. Players who make it through Stage 1 will be invited to take part in Stage 2, after which a winter training programme of ~32 players will be selected.

U17 WOMEN

SKILLS ASSESSMENT DATES: 14th September (12.30-2.30 PM) & 16th September (4-5.30 PM)

TRAINING PROGRAMME DETAILS: Fridays in Term 4 (10th October - 28th November) - 6-7.30 PM                                                .

AGE CRITIERIA: Must be born on or after 01/09/2008

Players will have a training programme with ~20 players involved. There will be intersquad games to determine the final 13 players selected to play in the U17 Girls Tournament in January.                                                                

REGISTRATIONS: Close 29th August​​​​​​​

U17 MEN

SKILLS ASSESSMENT DATES: 9th July (4.30-6.30 PM) & 15th July (5-7 PM)                                                                             .

TRAINING PROGRAMME DETAILS: Sundays in Term 3 & 4 (3rd August - 30th December). 

AGE CRITIERIA: Must be born on or after 01/09/2008

Players will have a training programme with ~22 players involved. In Term 4, there will be intersquad games to determine the final 13 players selected to play at the NZC U17 Men's National Tournament.                                                 .

REGISTRATIONS: Close 22nd June​​​​​​​

U19 WOMEN

SKILLS ASSESSMENT DATES: 27th July (10-12 PM) & 31st July (4.30-6.30 PM)

TRAINING PROGRAMME DETAILS: Tuesdays in Term 3 & 4 (26th August - 25th November) - 5.30-7.30 PM                                .

AGE CRITIERIA: Must be born on or after 01/09/2006

Players will have a training programme with ~20 players involved. There will be intersquad games to determine the final 13 players selected to play in the NZC U19 Women's National Tournament in January.                                                                    .

REGISTRATIONS: Close 14th July
