NZC Community Cricket Awards | Call for nominations!


New Zealand Cricket is now taking nominations for the Community Cricket Awards for the 2019-20 season.

This is a great opportunity to nominate that special someone who has played an outstanding role in the delivery or organisation of cricket at your club or organisation in the past twelve months.

Below is an overview of the criteria for each of the Community Cricket Awards. 

All nominations can be completed HERE. Please note, each nomination needs to be completed on a separate survey, and must include a photo of the individual.

Nominations will close on Monday 31st July at 5pm.

 

Community Cricket Awards Criteria

Volunteer of the Year - The Community Cricket Volunteer of the Year award acknowledges a volunteer who shows passion and commitment to cricket that exceeds expectations. This award is designed to recognise the valuable contribution that volunteers make to cricket in the community. The Community Cricket Volunteer of the Year award is open to any club/school volunteer (board or committee member, club/school stalwart, ground staff, clubrooms volunteer or any other volunteer who puts their time into the club/school).

Official of the Year - The Community Cricket Official of the Year acknowledges an official who has been responsible for officiating community cricket and has shown outstanding passion and commitment during the season. The Community Cricket Official of the Year award is open to all club/school umpires and scorers.

Outstanding Contribution to Cricket - The Outstanding Contribution to Cricket award recognises an individual who has made a significant contribution to community cricket over many years. The award is open to major associations/district associations/clubs/schools with the recipient having demonstrated commitment and passion towards community cricket for several years.

Outstanding Contribution and Services to Coaching - The Outstanding Contribution to Coaching award recognises an individual who has made a significant contribution to community coaching over many years. The award is open to major associations/district associations/clubs/schools with the recipient having demonstrated commitment and passion towards coaching and developing players at the community level for several years.

Cricket Development Officer of the Year - The Community Cricket Development Officer of the Year award recognises an association’s community cricket delivery staff member who has shown outstanding passion and commitment towards the delivery of cricket within their area. This award is open to all major associations’/district associations’ community cricket delivery staff.

Best Female Engagement Initiative - The Community Cricket Best Female Engagement Initiative award acknowledges an association/club/school for a cricket engagement strategy which provides female cricketers with a quality cricket experience during the cricket season. The Community Cricket Best Female Engagement Strategy award is open to major associations/district associations/clubs/schools and the strategy would have encouraged females to participate in cricket, provide opportunities for participants to improve their skills and lead into further female cricketing opportunities.

Club of the Year - The Community Cricket Club of the Year award acknowledges a cricket club which displays good practice and strengths in areas such as: planning, leadership, financial management, volunteer strategy, membership, coach and player development and community engagement. The Community Cricket Club of the Year award is open to all cricket clubs with the winning club being one that has had an outstanding impact on the community.
