
Wellington College have finished third at the Gillette Cup Finals in Christchurch held this week.
The defending champions finsihed the competition with three wins and two losses meaning they finished just behind Northern District's Hamilton Boys' High School and Canterbury's St Andrew's College who contested the final yesterday afternoon.
Highlights for Wellington College included a big 130 for opener Peter Bonar against Otago Boys' High School and a thriller against Rosmini College - nine wickets down in the pursuit of 252 and with two runs required off the final two balls, Petrie held is nerve under pressure and hit a four off the second last ball to secure the win.
