Cricket Wellington is delighted to announce that CODEC, existing sponsor of our Women and Girls Pathways and Performance Programme, has expanded its support to become the official partner of the Wellington Blaze for the 2025/26 Hallyburton Johnstone Shield season. As part of this strengthened partnership, CODEC will feature on the front of the Wellington Blaze playing tops throughout the HBJ Shield campaign.
This renewed and extended partnership represents a significant investment in the growth and visibility of women’s cricket in Wellington, complementing CODEC’s strong and growing presence across women’s sport. CODEC are champions of wāhine athletes, also serving as the front-of-jersey naming rights partner of the CODEC Wellington Pride in the Farah Palmer Cup.
CODEC specialises in software development, application modernisation, systems integration and technology consulting, and shares many of the same values that underpin our game - passion, commitment, excellence and teamwork.
Cricket Wellington General Manager – Brand & Partnerships, Jasmine Bailey says the expansion of the partnership is an exciting next step for the Blaze programme.
“We are thrilled that CODEC has extended their support to include our Wellington Blaze as they begin this year’s Hallyburton Johnstone Shield campaign. Their commitment to women’s sport across the region is inspiring, and this partnership will directly strengthen our high-performance women’s programme and create even more opportunities for our players to succeed.”
CODEC Chief Operating Officer Amy Cooper says the decision to expand support into the Blaze reflects the organisation’s deep belief in the power of women’s sport to uplift communities.
“Supporting Wellington’s wāhine athletes is incredibly important to us. Whether it’s cricket, rugby or golf, we want to help build environments where women and girls can thrive. The Blaze represent excellence, pride and community, values that resonate strongly with the CODEC whānau. We’re excited to grow our partnership with Cricket Wellington and continue backing the next generation of female athletes.”
Together, Cricket Wellington and CODEC are committed to building a strong, sustainable pathway for women and girls in cricket, from grassroots through to the Blaze and beyond. This expanded partnership will provide vital resourcing for player development, performance support and community inspiration throughout the 2025/26 season.
