ABOUT THE ROLE: Cricket Wellington is recruiting Community Cricket Ambassadors to champion and support our tamariki and rangatahi in schools, clubs, and the wider community for the 2026/27 season. We have casual part-time roles available. If you are passionate about sport and enjoy working with tamariki to advocate for physical activity then we want you! The Community Cricket Ambassador role is varied, meaning no day is ever the same. Ambassadors are responsible for delivering fun, social, and active sessions in primary and intermediate schools, colleges and within the community. Ambassadors must have confidence in working with people of all ages, cultures and abilities.
The remuneration for these roles is on-par with similar positions across the New Zealand Cricket Major Associations and wider Sport New Zealand – Ihi Aotearoa network. Cricket Wellington prides itself in offering all staff an excellent work environment and professional development opportunities.

A Wellington Womens Over 35s team is being put together for a national tournament in Queenstown, March 19th - 21st 2027, at the iconic John Davies Oval. The tournament was launched in 2026 with great success. Players who attend will have the opportunity to be selected for the NZ Womens Masters team (40+). The 2026 team had a mix of social players, senior club players & ex domestic & international players creating a social yet competitive environment.

We’re helping spread the word about a cricket gear donation drive supporting the rapid growth of cricket in Timor-Leste. After becoming the ICC’s newest member in 2025, the game has continued to flourish, with more than 500 young people now playing cricket across the country.
If you’ve got any good-quality cricket gear that you’re no longer using or looking to clear out, it could make a real difference. Bats, pads, gloves, helmets, bags, stumps and balls are all welcome, with white cricket balls especially needed for an upcoming national T20 tournament.
