Tim is a right-handed top-order batter and right-arm medium pace bowler who was part of the Wellington College First XI which won the Gillette Cup in 2018. He made 54 runs in his Plunket Shield debut for the Firebirds against the Otago Volts at Dunedin in March 2022. His first Super Smash game was against the Canterbury Kings at Hagley Oval in November 2021, and he made his first-class debut against Canterbury on the Basin Reserve in November 2022.
Opening the batting in a December 2023 Super Smash game against the Otago Volts on the Basin Reserve Tim smashed 139 from 64 balls to lead his side to a 74-run win.
Now seen as an opening batter in white ball cricket, he made his T20I debut against Pakistan at Rawalpindi in April 2024, and he played his first ODI against Sri Lanka at Dambulla in November 2024.
