Pete is a right-arm batter, right-arm leg-spin bowler and outstanding fielder who came to New Zealand with his family when he was 14. He represented Nelson when still at college and played 13 games for that Association - six of them against Marlborough. Moving to Wellington for work, he joined the Petone-Eastbourne CC and played his first Ford Trophy game for the Firebirds against the Central Stags on the Basin Reserve in January 2015. Pete made his Super Smash debut against the Northern Knights at Hamilton in December 2016, and played his first Plunket Shield game against Canterbury on the Basin Reserve in February 2017
After taking 25 Plunket Shield wickets in his first six seasons, Pete captured 55 in the last two. In the first innings against the Auckland Aces at Eden Park Outer Oval in December 2024, Pete took 8-127, the eleventh best return ever for Wellington. He took a further 2-48 in the second innings to give him ten wickets for the match.
He has been a substitute fielder for the BLACKCAPS six times in all three formats.
