Gemma is a right-handed batter and wicket-keeper, originally from Wairarapa, who played for the Central Hinds 2020-22 and made her HBJ Shield debut for the Blaze against the Otago Sparks on the Basin Reserve in November 2023. Her first T20 game for the Blaze was against the Northern Brave at Mount Maunganui in January 2024. Gemma’s twin sister Kate played for the Central Hinds in 2017/18 and for the Canterbury Magicians 2020-22.
