ANZ National Primary School Shield Finals - Tawa Intermediate School


Wellington's Tawa Intermediate School have finished second at the ANZ National Primary School Shield Finals in Christchurch held this week.

Tawa's four wins and one loss meant they finished just behind the tournament winners Christchurch's Heaton Normal Intermediate School who beat them by 67 runs in their round-robin match.

Highlights for Tawa included a massive 127 off 61 balls from Ava Conroy against Auckland's Remuera Intemediate. Conroy finished as the tournament's top runscorer with 215 and 9 wickets to boot.

Tawa Intermediate School 100 (A Birmingham 31, C Cameron 2-15) beat Sacred Heart Girls College 58 (S Heath 17,  Conroy 2-3) by 42 runs

Tawa Intermediate School 220/0 (A Conroy 58, P Campbell 35, L Comeskey 25) beat Ellesmere College 76/6 (E Duncan 19*, A Birmingham 2-6) by 144 runs

Tawa Intermediate School 109 (M Eastham 25, G Barnes 2-8) beat Balmacewan Intermediate School 54 (B Doherty 17*, P Campbell 3-4, A Conroy 2-8, A Birmingham 2-21) by 55 runs

Tawa Intermediate School 192/5 (A Conroy 127, C McGuire 3-11) beat Remuera Intermediate School 95 (A Todd 46, P Campbell 3-16, A Conroy 2-16) by 97 runs
