Three Titles for Wellington at Indoor Cricket Senior Provincials

Congratulations to Wellington's Senior Indoor Cricket representative teams on an outstanding week at the 2026 Senior Provincials in Christchurch, with three of the four grades returning home as champions.

The Wellington Women, Wellington Under 22 Women and Wellington Under 22 Men all claimed their respective titles, while the Wellington Men rounded out the tournament with victory in the Plate Final.

Wellington Under 22 Women

The Wellington Under 22 Women produced a dominant performance in the final, defeating Auckland by 50 runs after posting 137.

Millie Newell was named Player of the Final, while Addison Jetly received the team's Most Valuable Player award and was selected in the Under 22 Women's All Star Team.

Wellington Under 22 Men

The Wellington Under 22 Men claimed a thrilling five-run victory over Central Districts in the final after scoring 108.

Harry Mazey was named Player of the Final, while Connor Gatward capped off an exceptional tournament by earning Team MVP, Grade MVP and selection in the Under 22 Men's All Star Team alongside Blake Taylor.

Wellington Women

The Wellington Women completed Wellington's trio of championship victories with an 11-run win over Auckland in the final. The title capped off a remarkable turnaround after opening the tournament with two losses and a draw before going unbeaten for the remainder of the tournament.

Antonia Hamilton was named Player of the Final, while Bree James claimed both Team MVP and Women's Grade MVP honours. James, Rachel Bryant and Antonia Hamilton were all selected in the Women's Grade All Star Team.

Wellington Men

The Wellington Men finished their tournament on a high, defeating Auckland by 67 runs in the Plate Final.

Reece Edgecombe was named Player of the Plate Final, while Daniel Pile received the team's MVP award and was selected in the Men's Grade All Star Team.
