ABOUT THE ROLE: 

We are recruiting for a Yeah! Girls Lead Activator to administer and deliver our Yeah! Girls programme in Wellington for the 2022-23 season. Yeah! Girls is a social and fun cricket product for girls and young women aged 10-17. 

Activators are responsible for delivering fun, social, and active sessions both in-schools and local parks. A Yeah! Girls Activator must be a high energy, engaging champion of active recreation and physical activity for young women. Activators must have confidence in working with people of all ages, cultures and abilities and be experienced in engaging people in physical activity, though not necessarily cricket. In fact, we welcome your diverse sporting skills and experience!

This role is a 6-month contract position that will be based in the Cricket Wellington offices at the RA Vance Stand in the iconic Cello Basin Reserve in central Wellington. 

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

To apply for this position you must be a confident, friendly person that wants to lead and learn. 

  • Experience engaging people in physical activity, sport, and active recreation, not necessarily cricket
  • Confidence to work with people of different ages, cultures, and abilities
  • Experience in coaching (not necessarily restricted to cricket) and a desire to attend further development opportunities 
  • A tertiary qualification in Sports Management is desirable, but not required
  • Current driver license and reliable transport as regional travel will be required 
  • Police vetting will be completed as part of the recruitment process
