Rothbury becomes official sponsor of women and girls’ cricket

Cricket Wellington is pleased to announce Rothbury Insurance Brokers will continue their support of cricket in Wellington as the new official sponsor of women and girls’ cricket.

A long-time partner of Cricket Wellington, the local insurance firm has supported cricket for seven years and was previously the official sponsor of senior men’s club cricket for the last four seasons.

“Rothbury look forward to this new partnership with Cricket Wellington as the Official Sponsor of Women and Girls cricket,” said senior account executive Steve Pyke.

“It’s exciting to see the women’s game growing, especially in Wellington! We look forward to building a strong relationship with Cricket Wellington and continuing to support the strong growth that we’ve seen in the women’s game.

“The likes of Sophie Devine, Amelia Kerr and Maddy Green are great roles models for all girls who strive towards playing for the Blaze and the WHITE FERNS.

“The crew here at Rothbury Capital City are keen cricket followers and we’re excited to be involved in helping produce the next big names in the women’s game.”

“We’re thrilled to have Rothbury’s continued support of cricket in Wellington,” said Cricket Wellington general manager Liz Green.

“The team at Rothbury have been strong supporters of cricket for many years and to now have their support in the women and girls’ space is only going to improve the level of the pathway for providing the best cricket opportunities and developing our best players in the Capital.

“This is an extremely exciting time for women’s cricket in Wellington and New Zealand – a World Cup year – and in Wellington we now have two passionate sponsors that will help take the women and girl game to new heights.”
