Wellington Provincial A and U19 squads named for National Tournaments

The Wellington Provincial A and U19 squads have been selected for the National Tournaments at Karori Park and Lincoln University in January.

The Provincial A squad is well  balanced with youth and experience, headed by current contracted Wellington Firebirds Steven Murdoch, Josh Brodie and Harry Boam.

The Wellington Men’s Provincial A squad is:

The team will compete at the Provincial A tournament held at Lincoln from 2-9 January, against the A teams from the five other Major Associations.

The tournament format is five One-Day and Three Twenty20 games.


Current New Zealand U19 batsman Henry Walsh will captain the Wellington U19 squad that includes four players who have been playing for their school sides, including Brett Johnson who is also part of the current New Zealand  U19  training squad.

21 January v Canterbury at Lincoln 3 (50 over game)
23 January v Auckland at BSO (50 over game)
24 January v  Central Districts at Lincoln Green (T:20 game 10am); v Northern Districts at Lincoln 3 (T:20 game 2:30pm)
