Karori and Easts will meet in the Premier One-Day Final on 25 January to decide who will represent Wellington in the National Club Championship at the end of the season, following last round wins for the pair and a loss for the third final contender North City.
Karori topped the round-robin One-Day the series by virtue of its bonus point win over Naenae by 106 runs, while Easts defeated Hutt by 31 runs. North City were beaten by Onslow by 26 runs.
Elsewhere, bottom placed University had a nail-biting win over Taita in a high scoring match at Kelburn that saw both sides score over 300 runs.
Karori batted first against Naenae and reached 273 for 8 with Hamish Templeton ( 84) and Simon Baker ( 64) getting fifties. Adam Williams took 3-60. In reply Naenae made 167. Baker, Lee Edwards and Harry Wright each took three wickets.
Easts made 253 for 6 against Hutt District. Scott Golder scored 103 off 78 deliveries and added 143 with David Holt who made 52 not out. Hutt in reply made 222 with Fraser Colson ( 61) and Tim Robertson ( 57) leading the way. Ricky Joseph took 3 for 55.
In the University - Taita match Taita made 301 for 6 with Ollie O’Leary getting his maiden century with 113 from 105 balls. Steve Gellatly scored 54. In reply University reached 304-8 and reached the target with with just three balls to spare. Fifties to Nick Wanden, Colin Owens and Ben Orton gave the students a good start and set up the pulsating win.
Onslow scored 243 against Norths (Stewart Rhodes 84) and then dismissed Norths for 217 (Michael Martin 77).
In the Senior competition, Petone-Riverside are the top qualifiers for the final after defeating Upper Hutt by nine wickets, and will meet the Karori second XI who qualify on run-rate over the North City Second XI.
James Hill scored 129 off 114 balls for Karori as they made 302 for 6 against Wellington College. Skipper Matt Atkin took 6 for 30 as College made 151.
Elliott Brookes had a good all round game for Norths. He made 70 as they scored 248 against Johnsonville, Gareth Powell and Andy Stirratt taking three wickets each. When Johnsonville batted they made 188 , Brookes taking 5 for 33.
Collegians scored 291 for 8 against Taita with Sachin Wijaysooriya scoring 94 and Julian Brown 62 not out . Aaron Pennell took 3 for 60. Taita could only make 251-7 in reply. Hamish Walsh scored 87 and Ben Rammell 70 not out. Clinton Butler and Brown each took three wickets.
