Boxing Day cricket returns to the Hawkins Basin Reserve this season, with the Hell Wellington Firebirds taking on the Devon Hotel CD Stags in an HRV Cup Twenty20 match on 26 December, starting at 3.00pm.
Wellington’s brief but intense love affair with Boxing Day cricket at the Basin played out in the late 1990’s, with many cricket fans enjoying the opportunity to relax on the embankment under the warm summer sun.
