Nick is a left-handed top-order batter and slow-left-arm bowler who was brought up south of Auckland. He played 14 first-class games, 27 one-dayers and 28 T20 games for Northern Districts from 2015 to 2019, and 21 first-class games, 29 one-dayers and 29 T20 games for the Otago Volts from 2019 to 2022. His first-class debut for the Firebirds was against Northern Districts in October 2022, his first Firebirds’ Ford Trophy game was against Canterbury the following month, and his first Firebirds’ Super Smash game was against the Otago Volts a month later – all games being played on the Basin Reserve.
He has captained the Firebirds in all three formats and was co-captain of a young New Zealand A team that toured South Africa in 2025. He opened the batting for the BLACKCAPS in three ODIs against Pakistan at the end of the 2024/25 season.
