Opening the batting and the bowling, Ben helped HIBS win the Gillette Cup for schoolboy supremacy in December 2015.

He made his first-class debut for the Firebirds against Northern Districts at Hamilton in December 2018, two months after having played his first one-dayer against Canterbury on the Basin Reserve. His first T20 game was the Firebirds’ Burger King Super Smash victory over the Central Stags at Pukekura Park on the last day of 2018.

Ben made his international debut in the second T20I against Bangladesh at Mirpur in September 2021. He played four ODIs in Pakistan and New Zealand in February and April 2025, while his one Test match was against Australia at Hagley Oval in March 2024, when he took 4-90 in the second innings.
