ABOUT CRICKET WELLINGTON:
Based at the iconic Cello Basin Reserve, Cricket Wellington is one of six Major Associations that make up New Zealand Cricket, and is responsible for the administration, promotion and development of cricket in the greater Wellington region. Cricket is New Zealand’s premier summer sport with 170,000 people currently playing the game, making it one of the most widely played sports in the country. ABOUT THE ROLE:
Cricket Wellington is seeking a passionate individual for the position of Competitions Manager, to join our community team and lead on all competitions and tournaments. This exciting opportunity will support Cricket Wellington’s strategic plans in alignment with our continued focus on community cricket.
It is our ambition to see “more people playing and loving cricket” and to support this we wish to ensure all participants have access to quality cricketing experiences. Fundamental to this is ensuring our competitions and tournaments are running efficiently with the aim of growing participation and providing players with an outstanding cricket experience.
The suitable candidate will require the ability to manage multiple competing stakeholders in a fair and neutral way. Resilience is a fundamental trait for this role and will help the right candidate ensure they consider the broader picture in the face of short-term challenges.
Additionally, the position will oversee the relationship management of designated clubs within our network to ensure they have the support required to deliver exceptional experiences to their communities.
The remuneration for this role is on-par with Competitions Manager positions across the New Zealand Cricket Major Associations and the wider Sport New Zealand network.
This role is a full-time permanent position, based at the iconic Basin Reserve as well as being mobilised throughout our community. During the season there will be weekend work required and this will be compensated with flexible working hours during weekdays and off-season.
