Holiday Programmes

Our School Holiday programmes are now permanent features of the Wellington School of Cricket calendar. We run five of these annually to coincide with the school holidays, including two over the summer school break. Our programmes are held in January, April, July, September/October, and December.

Standard Programme (SHP)

This programme is perfect for children who are starting out. The programme is run by a Cricket Wellington qualified coach and is recommended for children between 6 – 9 years of age. . It provides an opportunity for participants to learn basic cricket skills using Drills developed by New Zealand Cricket, while having lots of fun.

The dates for the SHP:  Monday 24th April to Friday 28th April 2017 (Excluding 25th April – Anzac day)

The Programme is held in the morning 9am – 12 noon. Cost for the four days will be $175/- per player.
Intermediate Programme (ICP)

The ICP is recommended for cricketers 10-14 years of age who want to improve their performance. It’s a cricket skill development course that also includes some Fundamental Physical Development Programme components to it. As a well-balanced course it is the perfect opportunity to work on your game and development as a cricketer.

The dates for the ICP:  Monday 24th April to Friday 28th April 2017 (Excluding 25th April – Anzac day)

The Programme is held in the afternoon 1pm – 3pm. Cost for the four days will be $200/- per player. Players will require to bring their cricket gear for this programme.

It's semi-finals day at the Basin Reserve in Cricket Wellington's College T20 competition. First up this morning St Patrick's College, Wellington v Wellington College. The afternoon match will see defending champions St Patrick's College, Silverstream take on Hutt International Boys' School for the opportunity to play in the Final for the Hunt Family Trophy.

Governor General's School's XI v Wellington Wanderers New Zealand Cricket and Cricket Wellington Life Member Don Neely addressed both teams and parents of some of the Schools XI during the lunch break. 'Dare to dream' Don urged the Schools XI and what better place to do that than playing on the Test pitch at the Basin Reserve.
