Wellington School of Cricket in conjunction with Future Stars Cricket is excited to announce that former Firebirds and Stags pace bowler Andrew Lamb will be conducting an intensive 4 days pace bowling clinic at Wellington School of Cricket – Westpac Centre.
The program will run on the 14th & 21st May, and the 11th & 18th June 2017 from 4pm – 5.30pm.
Aspiring speedsters will have the opportunity to learn from one of the finest pace bowling coaches. Players will work with Andrew in groups (limited to a maximum off 8) in four 90 minute sessions.
This session will be exploring field settings at various stages of the game. This interactive session will provide an insight into being proactive in the field settings. We will also explore each action to ensure it is safe, in alignment and the most efficient to bowl fast, accurately and get the most out of every delivery. This will be videoed with the bowlers being able to see their action and will have a report to take home and refer to show al changes and corrections. We will also introduce the 4 Tent Pegs method of coaching fast bowling.
In session 2 we will begin to understand the notion of swinging the ball in both directions and understand the dynamics of making the ball swing. We will introduce the notion of reverse swing and how to make it work. We will continue to refine the Kinetic Chain sequence and introduce loading into the action to generate speed and power.
Here the bowlers will become more accomplished and knowledgeable as fast bowlers as we now begin to develop variations to extend our bowling vocabulary. These will include slower balls, Yorkers and bouncers. We will also discuss and develop an understanding of when to use them and how to set the field for those balls.
Session 4 will be a focus on fitness, diet and nutrition. All bowlers will leave the session with a diet plan and fitness regime to get them ready for the season ahead.
Over the course of the clinic each bowler will further their knowledge to become a confident, knowledgeable and successful fast bowler. The tools they will leave the clinic with will enable them to bowl accurately, set fields to different situations and balls they wish to bowl consistently, and use variations of speed and length to gain the advantage in every game they play.
The fee for the program is $240 and please notes that places are strictly limited. Please note enrolment will be done by strictly first come first serve basis.
A bank fee of 3.05% applies to all credit and debit transactions.
