Everybody loves scoring runs (even bowlers) and it is no secret that players with the correct batting technique are more likely to consistently contribute to the team score.
The Wellington School of Cricket is excited to announce that BLACKCAP and Wellington Firebird, Luke Woodcock will be conducting an intensive four day batting clinic at the Westpac Stadium Centre.
This season Luke became the most capped Wellington Firebird, finishing a stellar season with the bat and being named the leading run scorer in first class cricket. Luke has extensive experience across all 3 formats of the game and in these sessions he will be touching on some key elements of these formats.
The clinic runs for four days over four weeks.
The dates and times are:
First group Wednesday 7th June 5:00pm -6.30pm.
After this session the group will run on Sunday 11th, 18th and 25th of June (9.30-11.00am) – 8 Players per group
Second group Wednesday 7th June 6:30pm -8.00pm.
After this session the group will run on Sunday 11th, 18th and 25th of June (11.30 – 1:00pm) – 8 Players per group
Venue: Wellington School of Cricket – Westpac Stadium.
The age range for the clinic will be 13 – 17 Year olds.
The following themes will be touched on during the course –
- Technique against types of swing / spin
- Batting for prolonged periods of time
- Technical, tactical, mental & physical side of batting
- How to practice & prepare like the professionals do
- Food and nutrition
- Injury prevention
The use of bowling machines will be a regular feature of the course content.
The fee for the program is $240 and please note that places are strictly limited, and will be allocated strictly on a first come first serve basis.
