Impromptu coaching session by Tendulkar proves popular

Tuesday, 3 March 2009

A group of teenaged cricketers found themselves at the right place at the right time last Thursday on the eve of the Wellington Twenty20 international when they received an impromptu coaching and autograph signing session from Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.

The Wellington teenagers found themselves training alongside Tendulkar, Indian ODI squad member Pragyan Ojha and team coaches Gary Kirsten and Robin Singh in the indoor nets at the Wellington School of Cricket at Westpac Stadium when Tendulkar came accross to practice with them.

He spent about half an hour offering the young players tips and coaching advice and was very approachable and informative. He then took his time signing autographs afterwards.
