Club cricket 14 November: Defending Pearce Cup champions Eastern Suburbs continue to set the pace in Wellington Premier club cricket, earning their fourth consecutive One-Day win of the season by beating Taita by 58 runs in the latest round of matches played on Saturday.
Easts are four points clear at the top of the Premier points table to second placed Karori who overcame University by 69 runs with defending One-Day champions Hutt District and Karori tied for third three points further back.
In the Senior Grade, Johnsonville, Petone-Riverside and the Karori second XI are in a three-way tie at the top of the standings with North City just a further point back.

Centuries to Hamish Templeton (Karori) and Michael Pollard (North City) and a five wicket bag to Liam Chrisp (Onslow) were the individual highlights of the Premier Competition, while in the Senior grade five wicket hauls to Ben Turner (North City) and Tom Gibson (Wellington College) were the top performances.
In Premier action, Karori batted first against University and had an opening stand of 61. Templeton and Marc Ellison added 95 for the third wicket. Templeton scored his maiden century with an unbeaten 121, while Ellison got 69 as Karori totalled 275 for 7. University lost two early wickets and only Colin Owens (60) and James Finch (57) passed twenty as University were dismissed for 209. Jarrad Sewell took 3 for 41.
Onslow made 153 against Naenae with veterans Robbie Bird (4 for 26) and Shane Battock (3 for 26) doing the damage, but Naenae could only make 134 with Liam Chrisp getting 5 for 38 to give Onslow its first 50-over win for the season.
After losing a wicket to the first ball of the innings, North City proceeded to total 261 against Hutt District. Michael Pollard scored 135 off 121 balls with two sixes and 14 four. Hutt ended their allotted overs at 227 for 7 with Tim Robertson scoring 59. Tipene Friday took 4 for 39 for Norths.
Leaders Easts made 183 thanks to 46 off 43 balls from Josh Stuart. Hamish Blomfield took 3 for 37. Taita were in immediate trouble and finished with 135. Easts overseas player David Evans took 4 for 25 while there were three wicket hauls for Ricky Joseph and Narindjan Naguleswaran.
In the Senior grade, leaders Johnsonville were soundly beaten by Wellington College. College made 151 for 9, thanks to some tail-end resistance from Corey Larsen getting 29 not out. Larsen then took 4 for 37 and Tom Gibson 5 for 7 from 8 overs to dismiss Johnsonville for just 78.
Taita were only able to make 115 with extras top scoring. Ben Turner took 5 for 16. Norths scored 118 for 4 in 34 overs. Petone-Riverside beat Karori by 60 runs and Collegians had their first win of the season defeating Upper Hutt by seven wickets.
The Senior Women played two-day cricket for the first time in many seasons. In the main game Johnsonville made 229 for 8 with Megan Wakefield scoring 78 and Sian Ruck 47. Maddie Chapman took 4 for 48 off 15 overs. At stumps Onslow were 13 for 2.
