Wellington Blaze and WHITE FERNS stars Amelia Kerr and Sophie Devine have been selected to play in the Women’s Twenty20 Cricket Challenge, which will be played in India alongside the men’s IPL finals next month.
The duo are among twelve overseas players to be selected for the three-team competition – Kerr for the Velocity and Devine for the Supernovas.
Players from New Zealand, England, Bangladesh, West Indies and Sri Lanka will join India’s best cricketers and future stars for the four-match series held between May 6th and May 11th.
Kerr is joined in the Velocity by England’s Danielle Wyatt, West Indies’ Hayley Matthews and Bangladesh’s Jahanara Alam and will be captained by India’s ODI captain Mithali Raj.
Suzie Bates and Lea Tahuhu are the other WHITE FERNS selected for the competition, Tahuhu joining Devine in the Supernovas team which is captained by India allrounder Harmanpreet Kaur and also features England’s Natalie Sciver and Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu.
