Cricket Wellington is proud to announce a sponsorship agreement with
the New Zealand Institute of Sport (NZIS) who come on board as an official
supplier and education partner.
NZIS was established in 1996 and provides its students with a
practical pathway to success in the realms of sport and fitness. NZIS has
evolved alongside the rapidly expanding industry of health, fitness, sport and
recreation to provide relevant courses from Level 2 to Level 6.
“NZIS have been a leading organisation in sport and fitness so to
partner with them is another step in the right direction for the development of
cricket talent here in Wellington,” said Cricket Wellington CEO Cam Mitchell.
“We want to build a reputation of developing talented cricket players
and coaches who go on to play and coach at domestic and international level and
having the support of the NZIS will only improve that vision.”
In late 2018 the NZIS partnered with Cricket Wellington as part of an
articulation agreement to aid in professional cricket players being able to
access world-class education in sport, recreation and exercise.
NZIS central regional manager Andreas Kasoulides said the partnership
was all about creating opportunities for talented cricketers in Wellington.
“NZIS is proud to offer scholarships to Cricket Wellington academy
players and representative athletes who wish to gain a tertiary qualification
as well as focus on their sport. Cricket Wellington and NZIS collaborate
on a number of initiatives that we are really excited to launch in 2019!”
